Redacted: How to be inspired

Inspiration, REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTED REDACTED by its very definition and nature, is beyond control. This freaks me out REDACTED as I don’t like the idea of REDACTEDREDACTED creativity being beyond my control.

REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTED, inspiration is so important to all of us, REDACTEDREDACTED, we must learn to control it and REDACTEDREDACTED in order to have the best results for our projects… or to start REDACTED at all. InterestinglyREDACTED,REDACTEDREDACTED research on the subject of inspiration fell flat. What I DID find was REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED that inspiration came from the divine force itself REDACTEDREDACTED until the famous psychologists Freud and Jung came up with REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED how it worked.

No matter where it comes from–human progress falls flat without REDACTED. REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED, there is a time and REDACTED to get inspired:

WHEN YOU SHOULD TRY REDACTEDREDACTED TO GET INSPIRED

  • When you’re doing the thing: While in the REDACTED face of a problem is probably the best time to search for inspiration. At this point, it might even be REDACTED critical that REDACTEDREDACTED the one REDACTED morsel of information needed to move on REDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTED is discovered.
  • While you have a REDACTED journal with you: A piece of advice that was given to me a long time ago REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED was that a person should ALWAYS keep a journal handy. You never know when inspiration could strike, and the reality is that it could be devastating to miss out on that big moment just because you weren’t prepared.
  • With others, what we call “REDACTEDREDACTED: If you’re not doing the thing, or perhaps you don’t have that REDACTEDREDACTED journal with you, tell others around you. Humans have a knack to remember things that they teach to others, and even in the case that you DO forget, they might remember!

Whatever the case: REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDMany REDACTED great idea REDACTED has been forgotten REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED at an inopportune time.

THREE WAYS TO REDACTED INSPIRATION

  1. Dream Diary: Generally connected to surrealism, one of the best ways to come up with new inspiration is to keep a dream journal. We’ve all had some really weird dreams: it’s time to harness those bad boys and make them work for you.
  2. REDACTED back through your notes: For some reason we always forget the great ideas of the past. Go through your old writings, notes, or even inspiration journals and books. There you will likely find a treasure trove of ideas you can steal!
  3. Stream of conscientiousness REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDUsing your topic as the main point, write faster than the editor in your head can handle. Seriously. This allows you to tap into a different level of thinking and after doing this for about 15-20 minutes you’ll definitely see a different idea form over your original idea.

SCIENCE BEHIND INSPIRATION

Our most modern ideas REDACTEDREDACTED come from REDACTED Japanese researchers Takeshi Okada, and Kentaro Ishibashi. Their study follows the idea that artists become inspired while REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED.. REDACTED… imitating REDACTED REDACTEDREDACTED artist or art of the past. Their study took REDACTED groups of undergraduate students to determine if copying or REDACTED musing on artworks could REDACTEDREDACTED generate REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED inspiration for them. They found REDACTED this REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED effective, but only if the REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED ability REDACTEDREDACTED was unfamiliar or challenging to the REDACTED students.

Their research suggest that, “Imitation is an effective driver REDACTEDREDACTED, even for experts.

MOST IMPORTANT REDACTED ON INSPIRATION

While there isn’t a ton of research or REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTED on the idea of inspiration, the most important piece of information for inspiration is REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTED.REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTEDREDACTEDREDACTED REDACTED
